Assalamualaikum, Rise n Peeps Guys!
Hey guys, we meet again! In this entry I
would to share with you guys about the Dragon Boat Race competition which was
held at Pantai Klebang (nearby to Coconut Shake Original Klebang) on last
Sunday. Since ALAM is one of the well-known team in this sport, for sure lah we
registered our team as one of the participants. ALAM participated in both
categories; Open Category and Close Category which is for the Open Category
ALAM was represented by ALAM A and ALAM B (my team 😈) and for the Close
Category ALAM registered with 3 teams ALAM A, ALAM B and ALAM C.
I would say Open Category was tougher than
Close Category since there were 28 teams participated including teams from Kuala
Lumpur, Pinang Paddlers Club (PIPC) and even from Singapore! Their paddlers are well-built
(muscular?) as compared to our team. By right, ALAM is not at the same level
with them. Hmm let’s see how.
First heat for both categories showed that
ALAM’s team won almost every race which allowed all 5 teams to enter Quarter
Final! What a great team work from the team members, I would say all paddlers
even from ALAM C gave their best shot yesterday.
And one of the shocking moments is when
ALAM C won the Quarter Final race with a big gap from the 2nd place
team (if I’m not mistaken, UTeM Stingrayz)! And they even finished the race as
7th placing team out of 24 teams overall!
Semi Final
Unluckily, my team ALAM B was voted to race
in a continuous race which means right after Semi Final in Close Category, we
need to race again for Open Category! In Close Category, ALAM B was voted to
race together with ALAM A, MMU Paddlers and MADA team. Due to some unexpected
incident, ALAM A and ALAM B were both kicked out from the match as we finished
the race as 3rd and 4th placing. Since ALAM B had to
proceed to another Semi-Final (Open Category), we proceed again to the starting
line. And our competitor this time is RMP (Royal Marine Police) and MADA
team. As we already out of energy, again
we had to accept that the other 2 boats were too fast for us. Straight away
ALAM B was placed as 5th place.
What is there to be sad about? Come on guys
we still managed to be in the top 5 in Open Category! We even beat the
Singaporeans, PIPC and our dulu-kini-dan-selamanya rival MMU team and UTeM Stingrayz. What a great day
for us as Cyclone Breakers as if we look into body aspect, training, and
facility we are far behind them yet still we managed to put ourselves as one of
the great team in Dragon Boat Race.
Personally I really love Cyclone Break as I will still put my passion into this team even after I graduated from
ALAM.
This is our house, this is our family and this is Cyclone Break!
