How To Calculate Taxi Fares

Assalamualaikum and good day guys. To those who had used taxi service equipped with meter counter may saw the picture above. Well, that picture show how the taxi calculate the fares based on our destination.

So, how the fares is calculated. As you can see on the picture, RM 3.00 will be the first km/ first 3 mins. Below the flagfall there's written "For every subsequent 200 meter" and below it written "For every subsequent 36 sec". What that means is if the taxi is moving, meter counter will calculate the travel distance and if the taxi is stop, meter counter will calculate the time is stop and automatically will be collected.

There is a charge RM 2.00 for phone booking and 50 % additional charge for using the service at midnight (0000 hrs to 0600 hrs).

As a smart user and a student, we can calculate the fares even before we take taxi. Below I will show you how to calculate the fares.

         Each movement is RM 0.25=200 m, this means 1 km= RM 1.25.

         The formula:

         a)Travel distance(km) * 1.25=Taxi fares.
         b) + RM 3.00 for the start of journey.
         a) + b)=Total taxi fares.
If you using phone booking or using services at midnight, just add the charges to the total taxi fares above.

I hope this entry may help you to plan your journey if using taxi as you know nowadays all things gone expensive huhu. So, that's all for today. See you guys on next entry.
