Leadership and Teamwork needed to handle mooring operation onboard of ship

On board of ship, leadership and teamwork is required to handle the ship especially during mooring operation. The master of the ship who is the leader of the operation must shown the leadership to their officers and crews. the master is responsible of any case which occur or happen during the operation. the master also need to show the teamwork with the pilot who assisting the operation. To maintain the ship in position, the forward and after station need to send their lines to shore to made fast the ship to the terminal. The officer and crew need to be aware of any danger and need to continue to communicate with each other to avoid incident or injury.

The harbour pilot need to communicate with tug boat to assist the ship along side to the terminal either need to push or pull.

The tug boat pull the ship stern as per pilot order. the tug boat need to follow the pilot order because the pilot is their team leader.

Other than that, teamwork is needed by the ship crew to handle the mooring line because it is very heavy due to big size.

Not only the crew onboard, but this operation also need the teamwork from the shore personal to made fast the line to the jetty.

Last but not least, this operation is very dangerous to handle without the proper skill and procedure. The good leader and perfect team mate lead you become safe and perfect.
